Those of you who follow me on Facebook may have seen my post about the 9 for 19 but if you haven’t, basically the 9 for 19 is a list of objectives, yep you guessed it, nine of them, to achieve in 2019. I have posted another blog on the site which covers this in more detail.
Anyway. One of the objectives was to rebrand myself and the first thing I wanted to do was to upgrade my logo. For anyone in the photography game, you would have no doubt seen on Facebook an advertisement for Photologo and if you haven’t you would have no doubt seen peoples signature based watermarks.
In truth, I hate my official signature. I think it looks crappy and I would never consider using as a watermark so what to do? Enter Photologo. For around $95aud you provide them with responses to some of their design questions and they go off an hand draw your new logo. The best part is, you get at-least one revision.
So after a couple of day, the email arrives and my new Photologo is ready but to be completely honest, I was pretty happy with it but there were a couple of things that I didn’t like, so I asked for a revision and provided details on what I didn’t like. A few days pass and bingo, the logo is ready…
You might guess that Im pretty darn happy with the outcome. Not only is it the new logo for this new site, I have taken to rebranding everything like a kiddy graffiti artists high on wizzfizz (for those out of Australia, wizzfizz is a sherbet powder lollie). Facebook and Instagram received and upgrade and I had new business cards printed too.
So what do to with a new logo? Well a new website of course. The old site was OK. It has a look that at the time I really liked but moving forward I wanted something a bit cleaner and modern.
I had been looking at a new site template for some time and being a bit of a WordPress nutter, I pulled down the old site, did a fresh install of WordPress and purchased the new template for about $85 aud. I have to admit, the new template was a little bit of a pain in the bum when I wanted it to do things the authors didn’t intend, but I got there in the end. Im really impressed with the new look. I am proud of my new brand and I think the site reflects the impression I want to give to my visitors. I really hope you like it too.
